Virtual Certification Program in Industrial Ergonomics

July 22-23, 2026 | Virtual Training • 9am - 5pm EST

Learn to conduct comprehensive industrial ergonomic assessments through Humanscale Consulting’s Two-Day Certification Program in Industrial Ergonomics. This course equips participants with practical, research-based methods to identify risk, evaluate tasks, and implement effective solutions in dynamic work environments.

DAY 1: INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIAL ERGONOMICS

  • Identify and assess primary ergonomic risk factors including force, repetition, and posture in industrial tasks
  • Understand common musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), their mechanisms, and how they develop in workplace settings
  • Learn to apply the hierarchy of controls to reduce risk and improve task design
  • Conduct structured risk factor analyses using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Recognize the impact of secondary risk factors such as vibration, temperature, noise, and lighting on worker health and performance
  • Evaluate the direct and indirect costs associated with workplace injuries and the value of proactive ergonomics programs

DAY 2: CONDUCTING EFFECTIVE ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS

  • Develop proficiency in conducting industrial ergonomic assessments through task-based analysis and observation
  • Evaluate manual material handling tasks including lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, and pulling using practical, evidence-based methods
  • Apply data collection and analysis techniques to quantify risk and support clear, actionable recommendations
  • Assess and improve workstation design using applied anthropometry to better align tasks with worker capabilities
  • Identify risks associated with repetitive motion and tool use, and recommend design improvements to reduce strain and increase efficiency
  • Build confidence in communicating findings and recommending controls that enhance worker safety, comfort, and overall operational performance
  • With successful completion of this course attendees will be able to analyze risk using tools such as: Rodgers Muscle Fatigue Analysis, Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA), NIOSH Lifting Equation, and Push/Pull Analysis
