Path

Designed by Todd Bracher and the Humanscale Design Studio, Path marries Humanscale's renowned engineering with the highest demands for sustainability and contemporary culture. Path is composed of nearly twenty-two pounds of recycled content, which includes ocean plastic, post-consumer plastic bottles, and post-industrial material. Each chair is made of almost ten pounds of ocean plastic, a majority of which are reclaimed fishing nets, the most harmful form of ocean plastic. Path joins 25 other Humanscale products recognized by the International Living Future Institute’s Living Product Challenge (LPC) as certified climate, water, and energy positive.

Path exemplifies "complexity simplified," foregoing all unnecessary manual controls to deliver an enhanced custom sitting experience. Like all Humanscale chairs, Path’s Auto-Adjusting Technology™ responds uniquely to any sitter’s body weight, creating a Universal Counterbalance™ to support them in any position, without the need for bulky knobs and levers. Furthering the brand’s commitment to furniture that adjusts to the user (and not the other way around), Path utilizes a newly-patented Gravity Mechanism™. In addition to providing an Ergonomically Inclusive™ sitting experience, the technology also ensures proper pelvic and back support is maintained throughout the recline.

Path is available in a variety of colorways and in three different textiles, including the innovative 3D FormSense Eco Knit™. Created exclusively for Path, the FormSense Eco Knit™ is a 3D-knit textile made of 100% post-consumer recycled polyester with yarn derived from upcycled plastic bottles. With a simple, softly-rounded silhouette, the task chair’s minimalist aesthetic, coupled with high functionality, enables it to seamlessly fit into any residential or commercial interior. Path represents not only a new step in the evolution of task and conference seating but also a path to something better, for both the customer and the environment.
