LCD's Are Coming...Are You Ready? December 4, 2002
LCD monitors are transforming the landscape of the office. They take up less space and offer better resolution and less glare than CRT monitors. But their greatest advantage is that they can be easily mounted to an adjustable arm, which allows them to be ideally positioned for each individual user. In addition, an adjustable arm keeps the monitor out of the way when it's not needed and encourages the user to place the monitor in a comfortable viewing position when in use.
Featuring effortless adjustment, extreme stability and a sleek look, the new M7 line of lcd monitor arms by Humanscale, the leading supplier of ergonomic products for the office, is prepared to accommodate the rapidly growing market of lcd monitor users. With its built-in gas cylinder, the M7 is the only post-mounted arm with dynamic height adjustability. It offers 8" of dynamic height adjustment and an additional 6" of static height adjustment, which will allow users to customize the dynamic height range for different size monitors – a unique feature among monitor arms. The M7 will also allow users to easily customize the angle, depth and viewing position of the monitor for maximum benefit.
Additionally, the M7 is designed to be the most stable monitor arm on the market, so that it will securely hold expensive LCD displays with nary a concern. And its rigidity will minimize any bounce or wobble if the arm or desk is bumped. With simple and spring-assisted adjustability, the M7 eliminates any risk that someone could injure their back trying to lift and reposition their monitor while awkwardly leaning over their desk. And with its built-in counterbalance, there’s no risk of the monitor falling during adjustment.
Designed by Manuel Saez, the full M7 line will accommodate just about every application imaginable. The various mounting posts, brackets and arms can be configured in myriad ways to meet most every customer’s needs.
Composed primarily of die-cast aluminum, 90% of the M7 is made of recycled materials. Consistent with Humanscale’s commitment to the environment, the M7 will ship in containers made predominantly of recycled paper and wood pulp and will be guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years. The M7 lcd monitor arms will be available in silver and graphite, as well as a polished aluminum version and will begin shipping in March 2003. Retail prices range from $140 to $1480 for arms accommodating from one to eight monitors.
