New York, July 7, 2008 — Humanscale is now accepting animal-inspired artwork to auction at their ninth-annual Faces in the Wild event. The live auction and design competition, aimed at raising awareness and funds for wildlife protection, is scheduled for September 16, 2009, at Humanscale’s New York showroom.

Artists and designers are encouraged to donate original art in any physical medium—including printed or painted matter, photography, and sculpture—depicting the face of any non-domesticated animal. All entries must be easily transportable, display-ready, and made from environmentally friendly, non-perishable materials. In addition to online and live auctions, a panel of distinguished artists and designers will judge all entries. Three winning artists will each receive a $1,500 credit for use on Humanscale’s e-commerce site.

Due to space limitations, the number of entries is limited to 75. To reserve a spot and request an entry form, contact Karen Brooking at 212- 353-1383 or via email at karen@bdeonline.biz. Artwork and two copies of the completed entry form must be submitted by September 9, 2009.

In 2008, Faces in the Wild generated a total donation of $150,000 for wildlife conservation—a record-setting total for the annual event. Since 2000, Faces in the Wild has raised more than $350,000, including matching donations from Humanscale. All proceeds from the event go directly to World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the largest conservation organization in the world. WWF leads international efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats. By 2015, the organization hopes to conserve 19 of the world’s most important natural places—including the Galapagos and Congo Basin—and significantly mediate global forces like agriculture and climate change to protect the future of nature.

Humanscale Founder and CEO Robert King has served on WWF’s National Council since 1999. As a company, Humanscale is dedicated to environmental sustainability and continually strives to design, engineer and manufacture products that consume less of Earth’s limited resources.
