Humanscale’s ViewPoint V6™ Earns “Best of” Nightingale Awards
Flexible Wall Station Takes Best of Competition Award and Gold Award in Technology Support
PHOENIX, November 6, 2012 — Humanscale’s V6 technology wall station has earned two important Nightingale Product Design Awards—including the most prestigious Best of Competition award and a Gold award in Technology Support—for its ability to facilitate patient-caregiver interactions and its notable design aesthetic.
Supported by the Center for Health Design, the Healthcare Design Conference and Contract magazine, the Nightingale Product Design Awards are the industry’s leading awards competition that celebrate, recognize and promote healthcare innovations contributing to the quality of healthcare. Started in 1990 at the Third Symposium on Healthcare Design in San Francisco, the Nightingale Product Design Awards are named after Florence Nightingale, who advocated for better care and conditions in 19th century military and civilian hospitals.
The Nightingale Product Design Awards were judged by a panel of healthcare architects, interior designers and facilities managers based upon six primary areas: contribution to the quality of healthcare; functionality; quality and durability; aesthetics and style; environmental sustainability and pricing. Fully addressing all these criteria, the wall-mounted V6 technology wall station helps to improve the overall quality of healthcare. Specifically, it ergonomically accommodates 95% of caregivers with minimal effort (thereby allowing caregivers to focus on their jobs, not their workstations). In addition, it facilitates patient-caregiver interactions through the enhanced flexibility of its monitor arm, making it easy to share medical data with patients and allowing for more eye contact for strengthened trust and communication. The V6 technology wall station is also composed of lightweight materials—including eco-friendly aluminum—and few parts and manufacturing processes for greater sustainability. Designed to calm the visual chaos common to healthcare environments, it promotes a healing environment with a beautifully streamlined aesthetic and is available in a subtle White and Brushed Aluminum color palette.
The Nightingale Product Design Awards were announced on November 5, 2012 at the Center for Health Design Awards ceremony at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz.
