Humanscale To Feature Mode™ Chair at NeoCon® 2012
Stackable Chair Features Innovative Reclining Back and Sculpted Cushions for Lasting Comfort
NEW YORK — At NeoCon, June 11 – 13, 2012, in Chicago, Ill., Humanscale will feature its Mode chair—an innovative new seating solution created by the Humanscale Design Studio for settings such as classrooms, seminar areas, conference centers and banquet halls. Humanscale is further diversifying its offerings with the versatile chair, which represents a stunning embodiment of form following function.
Made for hours of comfortable sitting, the Mode chair features a flexible back that reclines up to 12 degrees to encourage an ergonomic posture, and dense foam cushions that are sculpted to accommodate the body’s natural contours. With a uniquely modular, lightweight design, it also offers a long serviceable life and helps organizations reduce costs. Specifically, its durable aluminum components can be quickly and easily disassembled and replaced in-field, saving both financial and energy resources. Furthermore, if the cushions become stained or tarnished, they can be unscrewed and lifted off, whereas other traditional chairs of this kind need to be entirely reupholstered at great cost. Moreover, all four of the Mode chair’s legs can be simply unscrewed and therefore replaced with new legs without difficulty or exorbitant expense.
Ease of use and intuitive design are at the very core of the Mode chair‘s design. As such, it can be efficiently stacked 10 chairs high—and still maintain a lower, more ergonomic height than a stack of 10 traditional hospitality chairs—for fast transitions and valuable space savings. The Mode chair is also easier and safer to stack than traditional chairs of this type, as its lightweight construction with back legs that are farther apart than its front legs allows the chair to be stacked from the front. In addition, it can be quickly ganged to neighboring chairs for a row formation using a built-in, retractable gang attachment that can be retrofitted if necessary.
With numerous finish, trim and textile selections, the Mode chair can be readily customized to aesthetically complement any event or setting.
