Ergonomic and Space-Efficient Stool is Specifically Designed for Healthcare Providers

NEW YORK — Humanscale Healthcare will display the Freedom Pony Saddle seat at the 2012 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition, February 21-23 in Las Vegas, NV. Ideal for healthcare environments, the Pony Saddle provides effortless ergonomic comfort and valuable space savings in fast-paced, compact work spaces.

Created by the legendary industrial designer Niels Diffrient, the Pony Saddle is part of Humanscale’s award-winning Freedom seating line. Featuring a triangular cushion that encourages users to sit in a “saddle” posture, which puts the spine into a healthy lordotic curve and reduces pressure points for long-term comfort, the Pony Saddle offers a compact 16-inch seat width—perfect for tight spaces found in healthcare work spaces. Its small size allows it to be stored out of the way, be easily accessible, and offer caregivers the ability to move in close proximity to their patients or to any task at hand.

Humanscale offers several textiles options for the Pony Saddle that were designed to accommodate the specific demands of healthcare environments. Engineered for exceptional beauty, durability and sustainability, Spirit Millennium, Lotus and Promessa textiles are antimicrobial and have easy-to-clean surfaces that are well-suited for healthcare applications.  Humanscale also offers Acqua, a healthcare-friendly leather, from Spinneybeck.

An environmentally sensitive design, the GREENGUARD certified Pony Saddle is made predominantly of aluminum and weighs just 12 pounds. It ships blanket-wrapped or in recycled packaging.
