Humanscale to Feature Element 790™ LED Task Light at Boutique Design New York 2011
Addition to Lauded Element Family Offers New Colors, Improved Performance
NEW YORK, November 11, 2011 — Humanscale’s Element 790, an upgraded version of the groundbreaking Element Classic LED task light, will appear at Boutique Design New York 2011. Featuring a higher-performance LED, dimmer control and an expanded color palette, Element 790 builds on the advancements of its revolutionary forerunner in terms of efficiency, color quality, and energy savings.
Element Classic is the most award-winning task light of 2009 and 2010. Thanks to improved MCX LED Technology, Element 790 consumes just six watts of power to produce lighting levels typically associated with incandescent lamps. It overcomes the weaknesses of traditional LED task lights by offering brilliant color and excellent light distribution in a compact profile ― to produce a large footprint of comfortable, white 3500K illumination.
With an intuitive dimmer control located on top of the light head, Element 790 provides seven different levels of adjustable light output, which saves energy by allowing the user to customize light intensity according to personal preferences and task requirements.
As with Element Classic, Element 790’s unique aesthetic is born from its simplistic heat-shedding design. A series of metal fins keeps the unit cool to optimize performance and extend the life of the LED, which is rated for 50,000 hours, or 25 years in most single-shift work environments.
Designed for superior sustainability, Element 790 is constructed primarily of eco-friendly aluminum, contains up to 81% recycled and 99% recyclable content, and ships in 70% recycled packaging. Thanks to its many energy-saving qualities, Element 790 can be integral to the achievement of a number of valuable LEED credits. Furthermore, unlike compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), Element Series task lights turn on instantly and contain no mercury, lead or other hazardous materials.
To ensure reliability and performance over its life span, Element 790 was tested under the rigorous LM-79 process by an independent lab approved by the U.S. Department of Energy’s CALiPER program.
For global purchasing flexibility, a single Element 790 SKU can be used around the globe. This is accomplished through an interchangeable plug for electrical outlet compatibility nearly anywhere in the world, regardless of voltage. For added versatility, it is offered with multiple mounts, including a series of panel mounts for systems furniture.
Additional features of Element 790 include perfect internal counterbalance for fingertip adjustability and effortless positioning without the friction knobs or rigid joints found on most other adjustable task lights. This encourages users to direct light exactly where it is needed and away from reflective surfaces.
In production and now shipping, Element 790 has a U.S. list price of $449 and is offered in White, Silver and Black to complement a wide range of interiors.
