— Humanscale introduces the M2, an ultra-simple monitor arm that offers a longer life, a more streamlined aesthetic, and a more eco- and value-conscious choice than any current-generation monitor arm. The M2 is an exceptional example of Humanscale’s ongoing quest to simplify designs to benefit the purchasing organization, the user and the environment.
Integral to the M2’s unique benefits is an automatic spring mechanism. Current-generation adjustable monitor arms utilize a bulky, failure-prone gas cylinder to counterbalance the weight of the monitor. The M2’s automatic spring mechanism offers the same level of dynamic adjustability as a gas cylinder, but eliminates the shortcomings of its clunky predecessors through its sophisticated but simple design.
The many unique benefits of the M2’s spring mech technology include:
Gas cylinders have a limited lifespan and will eventually leak pressure. With its failure-proof mechanical spring, the M2 comes with a Forever Warranty.
With fewer parts and less weight, the M2 requires less raw material and fewer manufacturing processes than similar monitor supports; plus its extended lifespan further limits its carbon footprint.
By eliminating a hefty gas spring, the M2 offers an ultra-thin profile for a more streamlined and contemporary aesthetic to complement the thinner profiles of today’s monitors.
Fewer parts enables an unmatched price point for a high-performance monitor arm, and the M2’s value is further complemented by its Forever Warranty.
Designed by the Humanscale Design Studio, the M2 accommodates most monitors up to 24” in size (up to 20 pounds), and offers eight inches of dynamic height adjustment and a 20-inch reach. Integrated cable management hides cords within the arm, while interchangeable mounting options include a clamp mount for desk edges or grommets, and a desktop bolt-through mount. The M2 carries a $295 list price and is available in two contemporary finish options: polished aluminum with white accents and silver with black accents.
Made of 52% recycled and 99% recyclable materials, including significant use of 100% recycled aluminum, the M2 ships in 85% recycled packaging and contributes to a number of valuable LEED credits.
